The Laboratory is presently equipped with a good number of sophisticated instruments including High Performance Liquid Chromatograph, Gas Chromatograph, Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Large Comparison Microscope, Docucenter 3000, HPTLC, XRF and computerized Photo Image System All the divisions are also equipped with computer system for carrying out various analytical as well as other official works. The Photography Division is also equipped with Colour Photo Development unit with sophisticated camera, enlarger and other equipment.
The Laboratory also maintains a well-organized library with reading room facility and is managed by a librarian. During the year under review the library had procured 22 number of scientific books. At present it has a total of 3403 books, out of which 2956 are Forensic oriented Scientific and Law books while 447 are vernacular ones. The laboratory also subscribes 5 Foreign journals & 8 Indian journals.
A sum of Rs. 2.16,000.00 under the same financial year has also been awarded for construction and upgradation of the existing Laboratory building.
